The University of Washington seeks to produce a community of students richly diverse in cultural backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints. How would you play a role in this community?

Describe a personal experience of cultural insensitivity or difference you have got had or observed. What did you study on it?

1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent this is certainly so meaningful they believe their application could be incomplete without it. Then please share your story if this sounds like you.

2. The lessons we take from failure could be fundamental to success that is later. Recount an time or incident whenever you experienced failure. How did you be affected by it, and what did you study on the feeling?

Last August, Susan Grant, chief nurse executive for Emory Healthcare, said this of Emory’s choice to treat patients with Ebola: „we could either let our actions be guided by misunderstandings, fear and self-interest, or we are able to lead by knowledge, science and compassion. We can fear, or we could care.“ Consider her notion of doing what exactly is in the interest that is public potential cost. In the spirit of Emory’s tradition of courageous inquiry, what question do you wish to help answer and why?

For one week at the end of January, Reed students upend the traditional classroom hierarchy and teach classes about any topic they love, academic or otherwise. This week is recognized as Paideia after the Greek term“education that is signifying – the complete education of mind, body and spirit. What could you teach that would contribute to the Reed community?

Despite the fact that she is only applying to four schools, Eva has too much to do: two essays for UW, two for the UC application, and another for the App that is common the supplements for Reed and Emory. Many students will have fewer requirements to complete, but those people who are applying to very schools that are selective a number of schools on different applications will have as numerous or higher responses to write.

Since Eva’s first deadline is early decision for Emory, she’ll start by writing the typical App essay, and then focus on the Emory supplement. (For the purposes with this post, we’ll focus regarding the Common App essay.)
